Asset
noun
An asset is an identifiable element of the heritage of an entity or an economic agent having a positive economic value, I.e. generating a resource that the entity controls as a result of past events and from which this entity expects future economic benefit
Example: A wasting asset is an asset that irreversibly declines in value over time.

noun
The process of making out or sending invoices.
Example: The billing company ordered her to pay and threatened court action against her son, if she did not.

noun
Operation by which a bank makes funds available to a customer in another financial institution.
Example: The bank gave us credentials.

The latest time or date by which something should be completed.
Example: The deadline for submissions is February 5th.

Inventory or stock refers to goods and materials that a business holds for the ultimate purpose of resale, production, or use.
Example: In our warehouse you'll find a large inventory of new and used bicycles.

Expend money with the expectation of achieving a profit or material result by putting it into financial plans, shares, or property, or by using it to develop a commercial venture.
Example: The company is to invest $12 million in its new manufacturing site.

Example: The two transactions are recorded in a journal entry.

noun
A book or other collection of financial accounts of a particular type.
Example: The total balance of the purchases ledger.

Liability
noun
In financial accounting, a liability is defined as the future sacrifices of economic benefits that the entity is obliged to make to other entities as a result of past transactions or other past events, the settlement of which may result in the transfer or use of assets, provision of services or other yielding of economic benefits in the future.
Example: A liability might be short term, such as a credit card balance, or long term, such as a mortgage.
